The Southeast Idaho Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) hosted special guest Idaho Gubernatorial Candidate Maxine Durand at their general meeting at a Pocatello location.
Maxine introduced her campaign platform and answered questions from membership.

“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the South East Idaho DSA for an enlightening and empowering experience, and an opportunity to speak to everyone about issues that matter most to our party. It was a privilege to speak with such passionate individuals committed to meaningful change, and with such prepared and thoughtful questions

As a DSA member committed to our mission for day one, I have witnessed firsthand the undeniable power of our collective efforts. My recent journey’s to Idaho DSA’s has left me invigorated by the remarkable grassroots organizing taking place across our state. I have seen the vast potential in our rural communities, and the message is clear: the socialist movement is growing and gaining momentum!

My time spent in Pocatello was a stark reminder of why we fight—against oppression and for a society that prioritizes people over profit. The hard work and dedication displayed by fellow comrades inspire us all to dig deeper and push harder. We are not just building a party; we are forging a movement that stands against the status quo and fights for economic justice, healthcare for all, and an end to systemic inequality.

Together, we will not back down. We will build a socialist party that is unapologetically human and firmly rooted in the needs of the community. Let’s unite, mobilize, and demand a future that prioritizes the working class and rejects exploitation.
